Boss Strategies
How to beat every boss in Echoes of Aincrad — Illfang the Kobold Lord (3 phases), the Sentry Golem, and the Floor 1 bosses. Phases, tells and the parry/charged-heavy strategy for each.
Illfang the Kobold Lord
Floor 1 Boss3 phasesThe beta phase's climax. Three phases with a mid-fight weapon swap and faster combos each phase. Stay at mid-range, bait a combo, parry the finisher, then punish with a sword skill. Don't get greedy — one full combo whiffed into his counter can end the run. Enter with a full stock of healing items.

EliteGuards the first resting point. Slow, heavily telegraphed swings. Circle behind it and stay there — its tracking is poor — and land charged heavy attacks into the back. Dodge (don't block) the overhead slam.

BossAggressive melee bruiser. Parries are the key — time the parry on its lunge, then follow with charged heavy attacks while it's stunned. Avoid trading blows; its damage spikes are high.

BossCharges in straight lines. Side-dodge the charge, let it overshoot, then hit the flank. Repeat — it has no answer to a clean strafe-and-punish loop.

BossFast and combo-happy. Keep your lock-on, dodge into its lunges rather than away, and answer short windows with quick sword skills instead of slow charged hits.

BossErratic, twitchy attack timing that baits early dodges. Wait for the actual swing, parry it, and punish. Patience beats aggression here.
