How Aincrad Codex handles your data. We don't collect personal information; we use Google Analytics for aggregate traffic and show ads served by NitroPay and its partners.
Overview
Aincrad Codex is a free, community-maintained fan resource. We keep things simple: there are no accounts to create, and we don't ask you for any personal information to use the site.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — things like which pages are popular and roughly where visitors come from. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. Google may set cookies as part of this; you can block or clear them through your browser settings at any time.
Your choices: opting out
You can opt out of Google Analytics in a few ways: Google's official opt-out browser add-on disables Analytics across every site you visit. You can also block or clear cookies in your browser settings, or turn on a tracking-protection feature such as Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection. Most ad- and tracker-blocking browser extensions block our analytics too. The site works exactly the same with analytics turned off.
Advertising
This site is free and supported by advertising. Ads are served by NitroPay and its advertising partners, who may set cookies or similar identifiers and use them to measure and personalize the ads you see. Under California's CCPA/CPRA, this kind of ad personalization can be treated as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. If you are a California resident, you can use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the site footer to opt out; visitors in the EU/EEA and UK can use the Manage consent link there to set their preferences. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising across many companies at the Digital Advertising Alliance and Your Online Choices.
What we don't do
We don't ask you to create an account or collect names, email addresses, or payment details (the site is free and has nothing to buy), and we don't sell your data ourselves. The one exception is programmatic advertising described above, which under California law may count as a sale or sharing of personal information — the footer links let you opt out of it. Any preferences you set are stored locally in your own browser.
Third parties
Aside from Google Analytics and our advertising partners, the site may load standard web infrastructure (such as a content-delivery network and web fonts) needed to serve pages. These providers process basic technical request data, such as your IP address, only to deliver the site.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the site means you accept the current version.
