A mutated variant of the Gale Spine. It is said their magical power is activated when they become leader of their pack, causing their mutation. Their bodies grow larger, their manes long and mottled with color, and the spines on their backs grow thicker and stronger, stretching out in all directions. Their most distinctive feature is their ability to extend and contract their spines at will. Many an ignorant adventurer has approached this creature and learned of this unique trait the hard way—the hole in their knowledge matched by the new one in their belly.
