Unshorn Mountain Spirit

Boars · #001007

Lore

A mature form of the Fanged Mountain Spirit, typically inhabiting higher altitudes than their younger variants. Their longer fur, likely an adaptation to the harsh climate, has earned them the nickname "Lord of the Plains" for its resemblance to a bestial mantle. The number of photons stored in its body is far greater than that of the Mountain Spirit, and when excited, they rapidly expand to release a powerful shockwave. If you're walking in the mountains and you notice the ground is pockmarked with craters, then you'd best leave immediately, as you're likely in its territory. How Mountain Spirits reproduce is largely unknown, although their numbers increase twice a year on nights with a full moon, during the spring and fall seasons. There are many mysteries surrounding their ecology, and nobody knows how to tell the males apart from the females—or if such distinctions even exist. Yet one thing is certain: any who venture into the mountains on the night of a Breeding Moon will never be seen again.
